Remote landslide monitoring at CES 2027: Avacam in Las Vegas

Avacam is bringing its technology for monitoring landslides and unstable slopes to CES 2027. The technology show takes place in Las Vegas from January 6 to 9, 2027. At the show we will explain how our devices turn images of a slope into ground displacement data. We will publish our booth, schedule and devices on display on this page as soon as they are confirmed.

Why remote landslide monitoring is coming to CES

CES 2027 spans several Las Vegas venues, including the Las Vegas Convention Center, the Venetian Expo and ARIA. Artificial intelligence and robotics will be among the central themes of this edition. For us it is a chance to show a use of AI far from consumer electronics: reading the movements of a slope. The audience brings together executives, engineers, investors and media from the technology sector. They are different from the people we meet at geomatics fairs, and that is exactly why they interest us. Many of them design networks, infrastructure and services that cross areas exposed to hydrogeological instability.

From Alpine slopes to Las Vegas: what a GEO device does

To those who meet us in Las Vegas, we will describe the work of a GEO device at high altitude. The device photographs the slope at regular intervals and compares each image with the previous ones. Change detection algorithms identify surface variations, and the platform returns them as maps and time series. The edge computing module runs machine learning models in the field and sends alerts without transmitting the entire image stream. Where there is no mobile coverage, the GEO Starlink setup transmits via satellite. Finally, the displacement data is validated by licensed geologists.

From Toronto to Las Vegas: our path in North America

Las Vegas is Avacam’s second North American stop in just a few months. In September we took part in the Canada Start Up Program 2026 in Toronto and Montréal. We were selected by ICE – Italian Trade Agency and Italy’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. We came back from that week with clear advice: start from a specific site and a specific problem, not from a generic pitch. At CES we want to continue that work with those who manage infrastructure and territories in the United States. Since April 1, 2026, Avacam has been a member of NVIDIA Inception, the acceleration program for AI startups.

Will you be at CES 2027? Write to us at [email protected] to set up a meeting in Las Vegas, or to talk with our geologists about the site you want to monitor. In the coming weeks we will update this page with our booth and the full schedule of our presence at the show.
